Hi Cheryl - that must be so disappointing for you. Perhaps in the future you could replace this ring with a special anniversary or eternity ring? In the meantime, if your current ring is defective, do you think you could get the ring replaced? It might be under guarantee.

We bought engagement ring before,mint condition.I lost itso my boyfriend bought me another ring same one.The 2nd one looked sooo crappy,rhodum plating wore off of it in no time looked cheap and 2 of the 9 diamonds glowed under blacklight.We are not impressed had both same amount of time and first one will never compare to the crap I have now!

Nicole - Such an alteration may be more difficult than practical. A better alternative may be to have a platinum setting designed and to reset any stones into the new ring, or simply to choose a new ring in a metal you can easily wear. Coatings can wear off, and you'll want to be sure you can continue to wear your wedding ring for many years.
