Jessica, It really depends on the setting you choose and also how hard you are on your hands. I would definitely take off your ring for any kind of labor - gardening, housework or any other work with your hands -- but depending on your lifestyle, you may be able to keep it looking beautiful even wearing it regularly.

My husband gave me an engagement ring that was white gold and some unknown gemstone. He knew what it was but he would never tell me. I had told him I hated diamonds (cause they are cliche) and never to get me one. Well he ended up getting me a Tanzanite engagement ring with three czs on each side (see he didn't get diamonds!) and I have fallen in love with it ever since. Now if I could only get an anniversary band to match!

I was fortunate enough to receive a beautiful Tanzanite & diamond enagement ring. Although it does need some extra attention due to its softness I have never seen such a classically beautiful ring! I love my Tanzanite!
