Your best course of action here would be to visit a local jewelry artisan and ask for their appraisal of the suitability of those coins toward making a ring; incidentally, the value of the coins is irrelevant if they're to be melted down to make a ring, but it can be a way for you to judge if its worth doing or if it would be a better deal for you to simply buy a ring instead.
