i think that an engagement ring should simply be given to match the relationship and persona; taste! if your relationship is more romantic, go for a simpler ring. if its a more wild romance go for something more jeweled up! if you're young you don't wanna pay so much cash on a diamond, i mean, other gems are definately good. but go for one that means good things in her or his culture.
