Love this cut!

If the ring were just an Asscher stone in a bezel setting, the closed setting would restrict the light into the gem so it wouldn't be as brilliant. Because it is surrounded by pave stones, however, that will rejuvenate the center stone and I'msure it's a lovely design. It's all about the amount of light, but the added glitter of the pave will make a stunning presentation even in a bezel setting. In the end, it's all about whether or not you feel it is a lovely ring, not what "official" recommendations may be. Wear it with love!

My finance got me an asscher cut engagement ring with a pave set bezel. I was reading here that bezel settings don't show off the asscher cut but a pave setting will. Im confused...will my ring be ok with a pave set bezel?

I'm sorry, we are not a retail outlet or jewelry repair facility. It is true, however, that older cuts may not have the same sparkle and shine that newer stones will have. I'd recommend a detailed cleaning first, particularly getting into the fine details of the setting to be sure there is no dirt accumulated that can dull the stone. Recutting may or may not affect the stone's clarity and sparkle, though adding additional facets will help brighten it somewhat. You may also consider resetting the stone into a more open, visible setting that will bring more light into the gem. Best of luck refashioning the ring!
