About Verragio
The Verragio name has become synonymous with high end, high quality jewelry, but the company’s success had very modest beginnings. Barry Verragio had much training and experience in the jewelry industry but was not well known for innovation until he was ready to propose to his true love, Tanya. Wanting a ring that would highlight her sparkling personality and the glitter of his love for her, he custom designed a new type of ring for her, and that design – the Lumino setting – is one of the company’s signature trademarks today.
Design Philosophy
Verragio designs rings that will complement the diamonds they showcase rather than overshadow or overpower them. While most designs are crafted from platinum, both yellow and white gold are also available. The key, according to the Verragio philosophy, is to create an innovative and romantic mounting with uncompromised luxury and quality. Verragio ensures the quality of its rings with a lifetime guarantee on both materials and workmanship, and each handmade ring is a statement of elegance, beauty, and romance.
Lumino Settings
The Lumino setting – the one Barry Verragio designed for his fiance – is a uniquely innovative style. Four high prongs elevate the central stone above the rest of the band and setting, allowing the maximum amount of light to enter the ring and enhance its beauty. This minimally covered but fully secured design helps accentuate the diamond shape and enhance its color and clarity for a truly stunning appearance. The diamonds are exposed on all sides to light, and in some rings even the side and accent stones are suspended in modified Lumino settings for maximum brilliance.
Verragio Engagement Ring Styles
Verragio only designs semi mount diamond engagement rings; couples must choose their own center stone to complete the design. Most rings are fashioned to accommodate round, princess, cushion, or oval center stones, though special requests can be made for other shapes.
Each Verragio engagement ring design is unique and highly detailed, and may include features such as:
- Pave set diamonds in the stone’s band or even along the prongs that hold the center stone.
