History of Spence Diamonds

Spence Diamonds was founded in 1978 with its first location in Vancouver, British Columbia. It has since grown to become Canada's largest diamond retailer with locations in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto. The company manufactures the majority of its 4,000+ items of diamond jewelry in its Vancouver manufacturing facility. Spence is known in Canada for its custom designs and by its tagline "Visibly Better Diamonds. Obviously better prices." A popular night club DJ in Ontario has even adopted the company's moniker as his own stage name: DJ Spence Diamonds.

Shopping Experience

Spence made retail history when it changed its approach to displaying its diamond jewelry. Instead of keeping its designs behind glass, it opened its cases to its customers, allowing them to handle and view up close high quality prototypes of its diamond jewelry. This allows customers to browse designs without pressure or intimidation, and Diamond Council of America educated Diamond Consultants are on hand to answer questions about any designs or diamond quality.

Spence Diamonds offers to buy back a center diamond for the same price the customer paid at time of purchase up to five years after the invoice date (excluding setting fees, semi-mounts with other diamonds or sales tax) on purchases made after May 27, 2005. Spence also offers a 45-day return policy, even on custom designs.

All Spence Diamonds Consultants are required to become DCA Certified Diamontologists to be able to provide advice and education material to buyers, including information on diamond care, diamond grades and conflict diamonds. Diamonds purchased from Spence are guaranteed conflict-free.
